I tried this ice candle thingy. I wondered how you make the whole in the centre..Instead before it got to frozen i poked through the ice and drained out the water that wasn't frozen yet. Must be an easier way? anyone know how?
The easiest way I know is to buy a star-shaped ice candle mold from leevalley.com. They work great - and not that expensive.
Before I had the mold, I think I froze a few inches of ice in the bottom of the bucket, then put a drinking glass on top, weighted down with knives or something and put water around it. It's a bit hard to melt the glass out then, but it's possible.
